About the Second Word War Tour
On this walking tour, you will hear the extraordinary stories from the Second World War that took place in Leeuwarden. What did the Leeuwarders themselves notice of this war? What happened to the Jewish inhabitants of Leeuwarden? Where did the Nazis reside? And what did the resistance do? These are some of the questions we will answer during this walking tour.

Practical Information
Starting point
Oldehoofsterkerkhof, next to the Leeuwarden Visitor Center (Heer Ivostraatje 1). On request we can start at any point in the city center. So we can also pick you up at your hotel.
Private Tour with your own group
A private Second World War tour can take place at any time of day. If you have a particular interest in a specific topic, we’ll be happy to take that into account. We take a maximum of 20 people per guide. Book the tour online or call, text or email us.
Duration
We usually do tours of 1.5 hours. But longer or shorter tours are of course also possible on request. For school classes, the tour lasts 1 hour.
Language
This tour is also available in English on request. The public tour is in Dutch.
Group size
We have a maximum of 20 people per guide. Please send us a message via the app or give us a call if you’d like to go out with a larger group. We have several guides, so we’re almost always available to organise a private tour.
Costs
We charge fixed rates for private tours. We usually offer 1.5-hour tours for 84 euros. However, longer or shorter tours are also possible. For school groups, we usually run 1-hour tours, which cost 63 euros. These prices include 21% VAT and, of course, we can always send you an invoice. The public Second World War Tour is a Free Tour. At the end of the Free Tour, you pay what you think the tour is worth! This means our guides do their very best to entertain you.
Education
This walk is also ideal for educational purposes. We regularly welcome school classes on our tours. This tour lasts 1 hour. Several of our guides have a background in education and also work at the Frisian Resistance Museum. We’d be happy to work with you to tailor this walk to your project.
