The Leeuwarden Art Route is an A3-sized map with a walking route past the most beautiful street art in Leeuwarden city centre. Update: the new edition also includes all new artworks created in the summer of 2025.
About the Leeuwarden Art Route
The Leeuwarden Art Route is a walking route that takes you past the most beautiful street art in Leeuwarden’s city centre. This includes large murals, graffiti, and painted electrical boxes and garage doors. Along the way, you will also encounter a number of other artworks in public spaces. In total, you will pass more than 50 works in the old city centre. You will also discover plenty of street art among the historic buildings. Some of it is a little more hidden and some of it is smaller in size, but it is definitely worth seeing.

The Leeuwarden Art Route is available exclusively at the Leeuwarden Visitor Centre (Heer ivostraatje 1). The map costs just €3. Our other maps are also available at the Visitor Centre. This Leeuwarden Art Route was created by the guides at A Guide to Leeuwarden. They prefer to show you the most beautiful spots in the city in person and tell you a little more than what they can fit on a map. You can book a Street Art Tour all year round. In July and August, there is a public guided street art tour every Sunday. In addition, every Tuesday to Sunday afternoon, you can join a public Leeuwarden Free Tour in Dutch. Every Saturday there is also one in English. On these walks, you will hear the most interesting stories about the history and famous residents of Leeuwarden, and we will show you the most beautiful street art. Afterwards, you can decide for yourself what you think it is worth.
